来年のスラムダンス映画祭のコンペティションラインナップが発表された。

イタリアの新人監督レオナルド・グエッラ・セラーニョリが菊池凛子を主演に迎え、元夫に親権を取りあげられた日本人の母親が息子と過ごす最後の4日間をつづった人間ドラマ『Last Summer』が2016年1月のレインダンス映画祭のコンペティションで上映される事がわかった。
すでに、ローマ映画祭などお披露目された作品だが、今回北米プレミアとなる。そして、海外メディアでも注目をあびている。

この作品、統括プロデューサーは、第71回アカデミー賞で外国語映画賞、主演男優賞、作曲賞を受賞したイタリア映画『ライフ・イズ・ビューティフル』のプロデューサーエルダ・フェッリ。美術&衣装は『グランド・ブタペスト・ホテル』の衣装デザインで4度目のオスカーを受賞したミレーナ・カノネロ。編集はミヒャエル・ハネケ監督の編集を担当するモニカ・ヴィッリ(『愛、アムール』『ピアニスト』)が担当し、豪華な製作陣でこの期待の新人監督レオナルド・グエッラ・セラーニョリをサポートしています。

菊地凛子は、アカデミー助演女優賞ノミネート以降も、ハリウッドの大作にでると同時に、昨年は第30回インディペンデント・スピリット賞の主演女優賞にノミネートされており、今回のこの主演作も期待の作品。

また、レインダンス映画祭は、世界のインディペンデントの重要な映画祭で、クリストファー・ノーランをはじめとする多くの映画人を生み出した事でも有名。
